Maternal Mental Health Awareness Month draws attention to the mental health concerns many mothers and families may face. Pregnancy can be a big adjustment for families, which can lead to increased vulnerability for mental illness among mothers. There are many programs set in place to help women who are seeking mental health care, some of which are listed below. 

National Maternal Mental Health Hotline

Postpartum Support International

  • The Postpartum Support International group offers valuable information regarding postpartum mental health and resources for individuals seeking help, including a helpline, online and local support groups, etc. 

Michigan Health and Human Services

  • Health and Human Services provides many local mental health resources for expecting and postpartum mothers. This website also offers other resources that may be helpful for mothers, including information on the Maternal Infant Health Program and more.
